Forget the New Year’s Resolutions: Start with the Day-to-Day

Forget the New Year’s Resolutions: Start with the Day-to-Day

New Year’s Resolutions have been used to motivate people for centuries…or have
they? With only 8-9% of people actually sticking to them, the effectiveness of listing
what we are resolved to accomplish in 365 days is questionable. So, what if we kick off
2026 with a more measured approach – the day-to-day approach.

Day-to-day is like taking small bites of the big elephant we call life. It’s manageable,
and it’s all about what we do right now.

Day-to-day, we have an opportunity to build who we are. Not in leaps, but in layers.
Little by little, we become the person we want to be.

Day-to-day is Today, and how we live it—the choices we make—will define us. Choose
to be better at one thing. Show up with effort, intention, and integrity. Repeat with
lessons learned.

Day-to-day, we are remembered by how we show up for family, friends, our community,
and our team. Daily actions that prove we care speak much louder than grand
resolutions.

Day-to-day, what we repeat is what we become.

“The goal is not to be perfect by the end. The goal is to be better today.” ~ Simon Sinek

You’ve heard it before, “showing up is 90% of life.” But remember, how you show up is
always a choice. Every choice you make adds up. So, choose to be better – day-to-day.
