When Comfort Becomes Risk
“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” ~ Socrates
Change is uncomfortable—but essential for growth.
History shows how we resist it. Seat belts, helmets, car seats—once rejected because “we’ve always done it this way.” Even with proof, people hesitated.
Organizations do the same. Companies like Nokia, Kodak, Blockbuster, and Sears clung to what worked—until it didn’t. Kodak invented digital photography but protected film. Blockbuster ignored streaming while Netflix redefined the industry.
The lesson is simple: comfort can cost relevance, safety, and progress.
Growth requires doing the hard work—seeing change early and acting on it.
Are you building what’s next, or protecting what was?
Keep doing the hard work.
