Elevating Leadership: Growing from Good to Great

Elevating Leadership: Growing from Good to Great

A leader at every level, in every industry, is given the responsibilities of
problem solving, adapting, overcoming, managing projects and people and
all while exceeding expectations. Who wouldn’t want to be a leader?

The reality is that being a leader, having the title, does not mean that you
have all the answers. Being a good leader may mean you have some
answers but not all of them. Being a great leader means you recognize the
need and have the desire to improve every day.

The enemies of greatness are everywhere, all the time – complacency,
dissatisfaction, fatigue, knowledge that success is fleeting, and the job is
never really done. Each of these can block our excellence and lead to
mediocrity.

So, how do we go from good to great? How do we reach beyond the status
quo and relentlessly chase excellence? Can we intentionally get better at
what we do every day?

The answer is Yes! But first, we must quite simply give ourselves
permission to be excellent. Missing some skills? Acquire them. Need some
help? Ask for it. Have an idea? Share it.

“Without permission, there is no growth.” ~Nedra Tawwab

When we give ourselves permission to find more answers by working,
collaborating, and sharing, the result is usually a more energized defense
against enemies of greatness. We begin by seeing the true possibilities of
our work, which is excellence.

“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do
better.” ~Maya Angelou

So, give yourself permission to grow as a leader,
