‘Tis the Season…

‘Tis the Season…

God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” ~ Augustine

Friends, as we pause this time of year to reflect, rest and be with loved ones during the Christmas season, I want to share with you my gratitude for each of you and for our time together. I have had the opportunity to speak with many of you; I've opened your conferences and coached some amazing leaders. What you have given me is a view into the ways you and your industry lead. I have grown from being with leaders like you. I am grateful for your willingness to lead others, especially during these challenging times.

Recently, I was asked to speak to a group of police sergeants about my favorite subject, leadership. It was a great time, and I am so appreciative of these fine people who put themselves in harm’s way to protect our community. As we closed our time together, we were talking about ways we unplug and get away from the hurry of life. Deer hunting, reading, podcasts, gardening and sawdust therapy were just a few that were mentioned. It is important to unwind and be restored.

My wish for you this year is that you find time to enjoy the season. Try to unplug without feeling guilty about it. A huge part of leading by example is making sure each of us gets some downtime to do things that allow us to rest and be restored. For me, it is being in the Sweet Tea Lodge, the shop behind my house, working on wood projects – my sawdust therapy.

May your Christmas be bright with joy and peace and may your New Year hold many more opportunities for your continued success. Thank you for all you do. Merry Christmas!

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.~Luke 2:14
