The Be Better Mindset – Freedom to Grow

“The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.” ~Matty Mullins

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, a day honoring freedom, courage, and possibility, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the freedom we each have—to grow.

Chris Nikic, born with Down Syndrome, didn’t let labels define him. At 18, out of shape and unsure of the future, he made one powerful choice: to get 1% better every day.

That mindset led him to complete an Ironman®—a grueling test of physical and mental endurance. But for Chris, it wasn’t about records. It was about freedom—the freedom to improve, to chase dreams, and to inspire others.

The Be Better mindset is about using the liberty you have today to become a little more focused, helpful, kind, or committed than you were yesterday.

In America, we celebrate our right to pursue happiness. And one of the best ways to do that? Pursue growth. Show up. Learn. Help. Lead.

Progress starts with you. Like Chris, your effort can light a spark in others. In your crew. In your family. In your community.

Great leaders know: freedom is more than a right—it’s a responsibility to rise.

“Leaders must constantly strive for growth and improvement…. The primary ingredient for progress is optimism. The belief that things can get better is what drives the human race forward.” ~Simon Sinek

Thanks for using your freedom to Be Better—every single day.
