Reinventing ourselves continuously
If you’re like me, you looked at the title of this blog and said, “What in the world does that even mean?” What comes to mind when you read that phrase?
It means I am wanting and needing to grow each day. Sometimes, I get comfortable and complacent where I am. I must look for ways to improve what I do and how I do it.
I saw a tweet recently that said, “If you don’t like change, you’re going to like being irrelevant even less.”
It’s easy to get comfortable and not want to make needed improvements. So, here is what I ask myself, “Why do I need to change?” It’s got to mean something to me. Sometimes, I don’t have a good answer. If it was not a change I initiated, I really struggle with it.
I want to honor and glorify God with my actions. A big way I do that at work is by the way I interact with people. I want to affect the people around me in a positive way. I look for ways to relate to people or reinvent my weakness from being shy and inward-focused to choosing to be interactive.
Servant leadership is not always easy. I’m going to see how I can help those on my team be successful by developing them. It is one of the ways I have tried to reinvent myself daily. I’m going to slow down and see how I can best serve those I work with.
