Never Let Up: Courage as an Antidote for Coasting
“Courage is the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees the others.” ~ Aristotle
In my work, I never let up on inspecting the work—even when we get it right. Why? Because getting it right today doesn’t guarantee it tomorrow. I want my team to respect what I inspect and remember what matters. No coasting.
We’ve all felt it—that small win that tempts us to ease up, to take our foot off improving the work. It feels like we’ve earned a break. But that’s also where standards start to slip.
Coasting doesn’t just slow you down—it leads to irrelevance.
So, what do we do? We choose courage. The courage to never let up—on inspecting, correcting, holding the line, and saying what needs to be said.
The hard part isn’t the message—it’s finding the courage to begin.
Never let up on yourself or your standards. Choose courage.
